Warhead
Relevant to gameplay.
The section of a missile that houses the chemical, explosive, or incendiary charge.
WASD
Relevant to control system.
The W, A, S, and D keys on the computer keyboard.
Wave
Enemy wave
Relevant to gameplay.
A significant number of enemy units that are in motion.
Weapon
Relevant to rewards.
An item utilized in combat, such as:
- Aircrafts.
- Anti-aircraft weapons and guns.
- Artillery.
- Firearms.
- Other small ranged weapons, such as crossbows.
- Land vehicles.
- Melee weapons.
- Missiles.
- Rockets.
- Structures, such as towers with integrated cannons.
- Torpedoes.
- Watercrafts.
Heavy weapon
Relevant to rewards.
A portable weapon that is more substantial than an individual can realistically carry and use independently for combat, such as:
- Anti-tank weapons.
- Flamethrowers.
- Grenade launchers.
- Heavy machine guns.
- Mortars.
- Rocket-propelled grenades.
Main weapon
Projectile weapon
Relevant to rewards.
A weapon which inflicts damage by propelling a projectile towards it.
Ranged weapon

Weapon of mass destruction
Relevant to rewards.
A device of biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological, or other nature that is designed to cause significant destruction or harm to a substantial number of objects, characters, or units.
Weapons free
Relevant to gameplay.
The order during which potential enemy targets that have not been confirmed as enemies can be engaged.
Weather conditions
Relevant to level design.
The state of the atmosphere in terms of wind, temperature, clouds, and precipitation.
Web content accessibility guidelines
Relevant to accessibility.
A set of web accessibility guidelines for enhancing the accessibility of web pages. These guidelines can also be applicable in game design.
Welcome screen
Relevant to gameplay.
The initial screen that is displayed upon launching the game.
Wheelspin
Relevant to gameplay.
The rotation of the wheels of a vehicle with limited or no traction.
White balance
Relevant to output system.
A setting that determines the true color of white.
Window
Relevant to output system.
A rectangular container displayed on a screen that presents information.
Winning streak
Relevant to gameplay.
A series of successes that are consecutive.
Wish
Relevant to development.
Something that can be incorporated into a game, but it is not obligatory.
