Objective
Relevant to gameplay.
Something that players must or desire to accomplish.
Long-term objective
Relevant to gameplay.
An objective that is intended to be accomplished in the distant future, such as in more than a few hours, days, or months.
Primary objective
Relevant to gameplay.
An objective that must be accomplished in order to make progress in the game.
Secondary objective
Relevant to gameplay.
An optional objective that players are not required to achieve in order to make progress in the game.
Short-term objective
Relevant to gameplay.
An objective that is intended to be accomplished in the near future, such as within seconds, minutes, or a few hours.
Offset
Relevant to output system.

Operator
Relevant to gameplay.
An individual responsible for operating and managing a system or machine.
Opponent
Relevant to gameplay.
A character or a machine that assumes a contrary position in a race, match, skirmish, or fight.
AI opponent
Relevant to gameplay.
An opponent that is governed by artificial intelligence.
Human opponent
Relevant to gameplay.
An opponent that is controlled by the player.
Option
Balanced option
Relevant to gameplay.
An option that is either superior or inferior in comparison to another option, but never superior or inferior to all other options.
Meaningful option
Relevant to gameplay.
An option that yields distinct outcomes in contrast to other options when selected.
Ultimate option
Relevant to gameplay.
An option that is generally more superior than others.
Outline
Relevant to output system.
A line that is drawn around a graphical element or a visual game asset.
Outpost
Relevant to gameplay.
Detachment of troops stationed at a remote station.
Output system
Relevant to output system.
A system that provides feedback to players in order to facilitate their progress in the game.
